You would know Amiee as the actress and model, but today we meet Amiee the pet parent! Find out about her love for pets, and how she supports responsible pet parenting.
She appeared in Bollywood film Bihu Attack alongside Arbaaz Khan and also made a cameo appearance in Me No Pause Me Play, marking the beginning of her journey in cinema. Apart from films, Amiee has also appeared in music videos including Nain Matakka and Yeh Galiya Yeh Chaubare.
My first pet was a white Persian cat named Irani. Over the years, I’ve had five pets, and all were cats. My current cat’s name is Oscar. She is a Tabby (a cross between an American Shorthair and a Scottish Fold), super playful and caring. When I cry, she comes running to me and licks all my tears, which makes me feel happy again. Spending time with Oscar is a complete stress-buster. We play, I offer her treats, and keep training her.
Little Moments, Lasting Memories
Being a pet parent keeps you stress-free up to a certain level. My Oscar is always there whenever I need her; she shows her love, affection, and caring every time I am around. When I am stressed, she knows and rubs herself on me and makes soft purring/cooing sounds, as if to calm me down. She stays until I pet her, and when I calm down, she is up to her playful antics again. She is very smart, intelligent, and highly intuitive. She loves it when I play with her, followed by feeding her treats.
I still remember the day my favourite cat was born. Just a few days later, I got my Bollywood break in a film with Arbaaz Khan, making that period particularly memorable for me.
As for her funny antics, she has an incredible ability to recognise the sound of a food or snack packet being opened, even from another room! The moment she hears it, she comes running over, ready to investigate and sniff around. She somehow knows when I’m getting her treats, even when she can’t see me.
A Little Comfort in Every Purr

A Balanced Routine with a Side of Treats
I make sure she gets the nutrition, care, and exercise she needs. I give her vitamins to support her daily nutritional requirements and regularly get her new toys to keep her active and engaged. She loves playing with them and often breaks into zoomies, racing around the house with endless energy!
When it comes to food, her favourites are whitefish jelly and shredded chicken jelly. And if I want to give her something extra special, tuna and lamb paste is her go-to treat. She certainly knows how to enjoy her mealtimes!
Building Trust Through Everyday Care
Cats need a little extra understanding and attention to keep them happy and healthy. I recommend alternating between wet and dry food, keeping their food plates clean and changing the water regularly. An automatic, motion-sensing water dispenser can also encourage them to drink water. Cats love warm, cosy spots and elevated spaces, so a cat tree or a suitable perch can make a great addition to your home.
It is equally important to understand their body language and respect their boundaries. Let your cat approach you when she wants interaction. A tail held straight up often signals a friendly greeting, while zoomies or sleep are times when it is best to let her be. Regular veterinary check-ups, ideally every six months or as advised by your vet, are also important for monitoring her health.
Cats are naturally fastidious groomers, so bathing should be based on their individual needs rather than a fixed schedule. Frequent baths can dry out their skin and coat, while some cats may find running water stressful. If bathing is necessary, use a cat-safe shampoo and follow your vet’s advice; dry shampoo should only be used if it is specifically formulated for cats and considered suitable for her.
Ultimately, caring for a cat means respecting her independence, understanding her preferences, and creating a comfortable environment. These little efforts can go a long way towards building trust, affection, and a stronger bond with your feline companion.
