Bonding through Brushes and Bubbles

Your pet’s grooming should not be dependent on the season! It is one of the most important aspects of responsible pet parenting, so whatever the season – Say Yes to Grooming!!!

As a professional dog groomer, I want to advise pet parents that grooming is not a seasonal activity. Yes, the products may vary as per the season or your pet’s skin, but you should have a consistent grooming routine for your furry friend.

Pets rely on their ‘hooman parents’ to help them feel and look good! Give complete care with proper grooming, skin care, nutrition, and protection.

Here are some essential grooming tips every pet parent should follow.

Rooting for Regular Grooming

Many pet parents believe grooming can be skipped during winter, but that’s a common mistake. Grooming doesn’t need a season! It is a year-round activity. Regular grooming helps maintain healthy skin and coat, prevents matting, and improves blood circulation for your beloved pet.

  • Trimming excess hair around paws and sanitary areas prevents dirt, snow, and moisture buildup.
  • Brushing removes dead hair and allows natural oils to keep the coat warm and shiny.
  • Professional grooming also helps detect skin issues early.

No More Itchy and Dry Skin

Many pet parents complain that their pet has dry and itchy skin. This may cause dandruff, redness, and even excessive scratching. But with the right grooming, you can manage these skin issues in your pet.

  • Use mild, moisturising shampoos made especially for dogs.
  • Avoid frequent bathing—once every 3–4 weeks is usually enough.
  • Apply pet-safe moisturizers or conditioners to nourish the skin.

Healthy skin means a happier, more comfortable doggo!

Pause for Paw’s Care

Don’t forget your pet’s paws. Walking on the floors and rough roads barefoot can cause cracks and irritation to your pet’s paws.

  • Clean his paws after every walk
  • Carefully trim the fur between paw pads
  • Use a pet-safe paw balm to prevent dryness and cracks.

Wags, Warmth, and Love

Short-haired dogs, puppies, and senior dogs feel the cold more than others. If you live in a cold area or an area where the day and night temperature varies, then a light jacket or sweater during walks can help, but avoid overdressing indoors.

  • Choose breathable, well-fitted winter wear
  • Ensure your pet has a warm sleeping area away from cold floors.

Skilfully Balancing Nutrition and Hydration

Ensure they’re eating a balanced diet and drinking enough water, even if they don’t feel as thirsty. It is best to give seasonal food, and you can talk to your vet to know about any specific diet or supplements that your pet may need.

  • Add vet-approved supplements (if recommended).
  • Keep water bowls clean and accessible.
