Everyone who is blessed with a pooch can understand the unique bond we share with them. Here, TV star Varun Badola shares his experiences with his canine family.
Varun Badalo, a popular name in the television industry, needs no introduction. He has impressed us with not only his acting skills but also swept us off our feet by his dancing and singing prowess in reality shows. Whether he is the mentally-challenged Neeraj of oshish- Ek Aasha or a photographer-turned-writer of Astitva – Ek Prem Kahani, Varun has stolen many hearts. He and his wife Rajeshwari danced into our hearts in ‘Nach Baliye.’
This versatile actor is also smitten by K9 love. He is blessed with three canines and he loves their company. Here’s what Varun tells us about his adorable bunch.
My loving pets…
I am blessed with three dogs. Sergeant is my first pet, a Golden Retriever from Mysore while the other two are Pariahs and are named Sadhu and Sipahi. Sadhu has a tilak on his face and hence is named so. Cherry, who is the mother of Sadhu and Sipahi also lives in our compound and is the fourth dog in our canine family.
What I love about my pooches…
I love all their activities but what I like most is the way they greet us when we get back – they start jumping and are very happy. Their delight simply takes away all our stress.
Spending time with them…
In spite of our busy schedule, we ensure to spend quality time with them. I take them for their daily walks–both morning and in the evening. At night, they don’t sleep alone. They first sleep with me on my bed for sometime and then only go to their beds.
My special pooch…
We love all of them equally but since Sergeant is the first one to come into our life, so he is like the first baby of our family.
Pets and vacations…
We all try and go out for vacation together and have a great time. But when we cannot, we ensure that they are properly taken care of.
My pets’ favourite dishes…
Sadhu and Sipahi like dog food but Sergeant likes home-cooked food, he especially adores chicken and wants it daily. They generally are not fussy and love to eat.
Favourite activity together…
They like it when I sit in the middle with a ball and watch them play. They love to romp with Cherry.
Any annoying habits of my pooches…
One thing that I don’t understand, that despite being the biggest, Sergeant never barks and Sadhu and Sipahi love to express themselves barking.
Qualities I love in my pets…
They are all very smart, when Sergeant wants to go out he fetches my footwear and asks me to wear them and then woofs at me to indulge him with his walk. They also are very playful and not aggressive. God forbid if ever we have thieves our playful trio will be running and playing with them.
Funny antics of my pet…
You must see Sergeant in action trying to catch water. He is like the eldest son of our family and he behaves like that. A responsible fellow–I must say.
On a concluding note…
Our three musketeers complete our lives. Being first time pet parents, we are also learning. The first thing that comes to my mind is that they are family and second we have to take care of them in a responsible manner. With their love and devotion, they complete us.
